Case against mother of Joshlin Smith and others postponed

CAPE TOWN – Joshlin Smith’s case has been adjourned until October 21, 2024.

The state says new evidence has been found and it wants to present it.

The six-year-old’s mother, Racquel, appeared briefly in court in Vredenberg on Monday.

Next to her were her boyfriend Jacquen Appolis and friends Stevano van Rhyn and Lourentia Lombaard.

The suspects, including Joshlin’s mother Kelly Smith, are accused of kidnapping and human trafficking for the purpose of exploitation.

The girl disappeared from her home in Saldanha Bay in February.
