Slovenian President praises Eurojust’s role in strengthening cross-border judicial cooperation

She emphasised the joint efforts of the Slovenian authorities and Eurojust and stressed the need for a solid legal framework and political will to effectively tackle problems such as money laundering and corruption, which transcend national borders.

Slovenia has been actively involved in over 1,300 cross-border cases at Eurojust since 2020, leading investigations in over 1,000 of them. Notably, Slovenian and Italian authorities recently worked together to arrest a fugitive criminal leader in Koper, demonstrating the effectiveness of Joint Investigation Teams (JITs). Eurojust President Ladislav Hamran recognised Slovenia’s important contribution to the fight against organised crime, noting that the number of cases in Slovenia has increased by 25% since 2020. It also expressed its gratitude for the support of President Pirc Musar in ensuring the safety and security of Europe.
