Urgent Warning: IDF Warns Hamas Helping Cartels Build Tunnels Between Mexico and San Diego | Law Enforcement Today

SAN DIEGO, CA — In Gaza, we’ve seen Hamas’s sophistication in tunneling. Now we hear they may be doing it much closer to home, American Thinker reports.

According to Newsmax correspondent Jaeson Jones, a colonel in the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF), Hamas is helping Mexican drug cartels dig tunnels between Mexico and San Diego.

According to CBP, the U.S. Border Patrol has more than 200 of such tunnels since 2003. The last time it was reported was in 2022, when a tunnel was found between Tijuana and San Diego. That tunnel had air conditioning, electricity, and rail lines that stretched for a mile. In other words, this was a very sophisticated operation.

Jones interviewed IDF Colonel Dany Tirza, who was responsible for planning security infrastructure in the West Bank.

“As we know, directly from Palestinians in Gaza, there is a group from Hamas that is working with the syndicates in Tijuana to dig tunnels towards San Diego,” Tirza told Jones. He noted that Hamas engineers have “special technology” that allows them to work and dig in sandy areas, noting that it is technology “that the Mexicans (do not) have. And that is why they need people from Hamas” to build tunnels in sandy terrain.

He continued that Hamas “makes a lot of money” by helping the cartels with their knowledge of building tunnels.

Of course, this doesn’t just mean trouble for San Diego, but for the United States in general, as Mexican drug cartels now have the ability to smuggle drugs and illegal aliens into the country. That doesn’t eliminate the possibility that those illegal aliens could be terrorists who want to do our country harm.

San Diego Supervisor Jim Desmond also issued a stern warning about the city on X, “San Diego leads the nation — and not in a good way. We account for 85 percent of all ‘Special Interest Aliens’ — individuals with known ties to terrorism — arrested, charged, or convicted of terrorism-related crimes by U.S. or foreign authorities.

“This is not just a statistic, this is a clear failure of the federal government that puts our communities and our country at risk.”

There are many similarities between Hamas and Mexican drug cartels. But you wouldn’t know that if you only listened to the mainstream media. But the fact that there seems to be an unholy alliance between Hamas and Mexican cartels spells trouble for our national security. On October 7th of last year, we saw the carnage that Hamas terrorists can wreak, and that’s with a secure border.

Given the porous situation on our southern border, the death toll could be exponentially higher than last year in Israel if Hamas decides to carry out such an operation.
