Applied Signal Technology: WHO WE ARE

What you will do:

  • Support for vulnerability research/analysis and reverse engineering of embedded hardware and networks.
  • Works closely with our customers, senior management, program managers, senior reverse engineering experts, and technical leaders to thoroughly understand customer objectives and develop solutions.
  • Work on or lead research and development projects focused on advanced technology exploration.
  • You may travel a maximum of 25% of the time.

Qualifications you must have:

  • Typically, a degree in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics (STEM) is required, unless prohibited by local law or regulation. Additionally, you must have at least 8 years of relevant experience or an advanced degree in a related field and at least 5 years of experience. If you do not have a degree, you must have at least 12 years of relevant experience.
  • 8 years of experience in developing cyber network operations and cyber network exploitation tools.
  • Reverse engineering technical skills in the following areas: binary analysis, protocol analysis, code decompilation, malware analysis and vulnerability assessment in large-scale networked systems and/or RTOS-based embedded systems.
  • Experience using reverse engineering tools (Ghidra, IDA Pro, Binary Ninja, Radare or similar) in embedded architectures (ARM, x86/64, MIPS or PPC).
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government issued TS/SCI security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications we prefer:

  • Active U.S. Government issued TS/SCI security clearance or current SSBI.
  • Experience in developing Fuzzers and programming with C++ and Python.
  • Experience in using offensive and defensive cyber tools.
  • Experience in embedded systems development, hardware debugging, and in-depth knowledge of computer hardware subsystems (communication devices, I/O, memory), boot sequences, and device systems management.
  • Knowledge of network protocols such as TCP/IP stacks, low-level protocols, different communication methods, routing protocols, etc.

The salary range for this position is $105,000 – $221,000. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate and is representative of all levels of experience. RTX considers several factors in making an offer, including but not limited to a candidate’s job title, position and responsibilities, work experience, location, education/training, and key skills. Accepted candidates may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible schedules, Employee Assistance Program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Specific benefits may vary based on the specific business unit and whether or not the position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement. Successful candidates may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs, depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or company performance. This position is a U.S.-based position. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate salary structure and benefits will apply.
