Summerville man faces 13 charges in child sexual exploitation case

South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson announced Wednesday that a Summerville man has been arrested on 13 charges related to the sexual exploitation of a minor.

Christopher Michael McCoy, 45, is charged with two counts of second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor, a felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison per count; and 11 counts of third-degree sexual exploitation of a minor, a felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison per count, the attorney general said.

Investigators accuse McCoy of possessing and distributing files containing child sexual abuse.

Wilson’s office will prosecute the case.

A booking photo for McCoy was not immediately available.
