Grand Jury Indicts Man in Child Sexual Exploitation Case

WHITLEY COUNTY, Ky. (WYMT) – A Williamsburg grand jury has indicted Tanner Petrey, 24, on 32 counts of distributing material depicting a minor in a sexual performance.

The charges came after Petrey’s arrest on June 27.

Distribution took place between April 2023 and June 2024 in Whitley County.

Petrey was charged with three counts of possession or viewing of an object depicting a sexual act by a minor, dating back to July 2018.

Petrey was also charged with one count of unlawful use of electronic means to solicit a minor to engage in sexual acts. That charge stems from May 2018, when he knowingly used a mobile device to solicit a 14-year-old to engage in sexual acts.
