The U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York has unsealed the federal indictment against disgraced music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs, charging him with more than a decade of abuse, threats and coercion of women and others, conspiracy to commit extortion, sex trafficking, forced labor, kidnapping, arson, bribery and obstruction of justice, among other crimes.

Combs, who was arrested Monday night, was charged on three counts of conspiracy to commit racketeering, trafficking in persons and transportation for the purpose of prostitution, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York said in a news release.

Here’s a compilation of the alleged abuse by Combs — who has also been known as “Puff Daddy,” “P. Diddy,” “Diddy,” “PD” and “Love” — according to the indictment.

  • Combs “abused, threatened, and coerced women and others around him to satisfy his sexual desires, protect his reputation, and conceal his conduct.”
  • Through his business empire, Combs created “a criminal enterprise” whose members engaged or attempted to engage in “sex trafficking, forced labor, kidnapping, arson, bribery, and obstruction of justice,” among other crimes.
  • Combs “engaged in a persistent and widespread pattern of abuse against women and other individuals” that included “verbal, emotional, physical and sexual” abuse.
  • Combs “manipulated women into participating in highly orchestrated sexual activities with male sex workers.”
  • Combs and others acting at his direction arranged for women and sex workers to be flown to his location, where he “ensured the women’s participation” by “obtaining and distributing narcotics to them, controlling their careers, leveraging his financial support and threatening to terminate it, and using intimidation and violence.”
  • Combs “attacked women” by “hitting, punching, dragging, throwing objects at them, and kicking them,” and also engaged in “violence” against “employees, witnesses to his abuse, and others.”
  • Combs “attempted to bribe a member of the hotel’s security staff” who intervened during a 2016 incident “to ensure silence.” The incident, which was captured on film, showed Combs kicking, dragging and throwing a vase at a woman.
  • Combs used his company and employees to “perpetrate, facilitate, and cover up his abuse and commercial sex trafficking.”

Additionally, Combs ran “a criminal enterprise” called Combs Enterprise, which “existed to facilitate his abuse and exploitation of women, to protect his reputation, and to conceal his conduct,” alleges the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York.

“As part of that criminal enterprise, Combs, along with other members and associates of the enterprise, committed crimes including sex trafficking, forced labor, kidnapping, arson, bribery, and obstruction of justice,” the federal government added.

Additionally, Combs allegedly organized events he called “Freak Offs,” where women were forced to engage in extensive and frequent, days-long sexual acts with male sex workers.

Combs is said to have arranged, directed, masturbated during, and often electronically recorded the Freak Offs.

Freak Offs “were frequent, sometimes lasted multiple days, and often involved multiple commercial sex workers,” the indictment states. Combs also allegedly provided “a variety of controlled substances to victims” during Freak Offs, “in part to keep the victims obedient and compliant.”

Combs and the victims “were typically given intravenous fluids to recover from the physical exertion and drug use” following Freak Offs, the federal indictment states.

In March, authorities seized various “Freak Off supplies” during raids on Combs’ properties in Miami and Los Angeles, including “narcotics and more than 1,000 bottles of baby oil and lubricant.”

To ensure participation in Freak Offs, Combs “used force and intimidation, and used his power over the victims,” alleges the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York.

“Combs also threatened his victims, including by threatening to release embarrassing and sensitive recordings he made of Freak Offs if the women did not comply with his demands,” federal authorities said.

According to the indictment, Combs also threatened the careers and livelihoods of victims if they refused to participate in Freak Offs.

As for the charges against Combs, one count of conspiracy to commit racketeering carries a maximum sentence of life in prison, one count of sex trafficking by force, fraud or coercion carries a maximum sentence of life in prison and a mandatory minimum sentence of 15 years in prison, and one count of transportation for the purpose of prostitution carries a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison.
