Under SP government, the government was run by mafia and people suffered while ‘Babua’ slept till noon: CM Yogi

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Thursday slammed the Samajwadi Party and its leader Akhilesh Yadav, saying organised crime had flourished under the SP’s rule in the past with mafias controlling animals, forests, mining and land.

At a public meeting at Vidya Inter College in Milkipur, he remarked: “The mafia was in fact running a parallel government, spreading lawlessness and terror, while ‘Babua’ never stepped out and did not even wake up before noon, leaving the people to suffer.”

He criticised the SP leaders, pointing out that key mafia figures and criminals from every district had links with the party and that all of them had a dedicated functionary or follower.

CM Yogi also accused SP of extreme Muslim appeasement, which led to widespread unrest during festivals. He said, “They banned celebrations of Holi, Diwali, Rakshabandhan, Shivratri, Ramnavami and Janmashtami. They even banned singing of bhajans during Janmashtami in police stations, police lines and jails. Some could not bear the sound of ‘Hare Rama, Hare Krishna’, so SP banned it. They also banned the Kanwar Yatra.”

CM Yogi recalled the riots in Ayodhya during Durga Puja under SP’s rule and said, “The idol was stolen from the Devkali temple during their rule. I, as the MP from Gorakhpur, had to intervene and launch a movement.”

Highlighting his ‘Mission Milkipur’, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Thursday gave a major development boost to Ramnagari Ayodhya by inaugurating 83 projects worth over Rs 1,000 crore and laying the foundation for these projects.

The CM also distributed cheques, keys, certificates and sewing machines among beneficiaries of various government schemes. Highlighting the progress in Milkipur, he announced plans for a mini stadium and setting up of 30 new routes, along with an investment of Rs 9 crore for a rural stadium at Revna.

CM Yogi highlighted the transformation of Uttar Pradesh, noting that the state has now become the driving force behind India’s economic growth. “Before 2017, Uttar Pradesh was seen as a roadblock to the country’s progress, plagued by anarchy and discrimination in development plans, with even respected figures being disrespected,” he said.

However, the BJP government’s ‘double engine’ has accelerated development rapidly over the past seven and a half years. Today, villages and hamlets are benefiting from four-lane and two-lane roads, better connectivity and improved access to electricity and water.

The CM highlighted major achievements including providing toilets to 2.62 crore families, housing to 56 lakh poor households, electricity to 1.20 lakh small villages and free power connections to over 1.56 crore families. Under the Ujjwala scheme, 1.83 crore families received free gas cylinders, with free refills now being provided on Holi and Diwali since last year. Besides, 15 crore people in Uttar Pradesh receive free ration, while before 2017, “SP goons used to steal the rations meant for the poor,” he noted.

CM Yogi accused the SP of complicity in cow smuggling, deforestation and land grabbing. “Today we have eradicated land encroachments. Since 2017, our anti-land mafia task force has reclaimed 64,000 hectares of land from SP-affiliated mafia and miscreants, including in Bhadarsa,” he said.

Responding to SP’s allegations of a land fraud in Ayodhya, CM Yogi said, “There has been no fraud here; instead, a compensation of Rs 1,700 crore has been paid to farmers. Those making these allegations are defending the wrongdoings of their collaborators. Every legitimate victim has been compensated.”

Highlighting the transformation in Ayodhya, the CM said, “In Ayodhya, where the blood of Ram devotees was once shed, more than three crore pilgrims have visited Lord Ram Lalla since January 2022.”

CM Yogi Adityanath noted that when temples in Ayodhya are lit during Deepotsav, only the SP leader and Pakistan are disturbed.

“They understand that every lamp lit in Ayodhya not only illuminates the city, the state and the country, but also has the power to destroy Pakistan, a country that has become a cancer on humanity. Being an enemy of India, Pakistan is of course in trouble, but so is the Samajwadi Party because of its anti-Hindu mentality,” the CM said.

He added: “The SP, which is used to operating in the dark, is confident that she will carry out its crimes.”

Highlighting the unprecedented level of development under the double-engine BJP government, CM Yogi noted, “In the last seven and a half years, Ayodhya has received development projects worth Rs 30,000 crore. This surpasses the progress seen in the 60 years of Congress and four terms of SP leadership.”

“Our government has even renovated 6,461 shops, offered exemptions in compensation and FAR and allowed construction of shops at the back of plots. In the last seven and a half years, we have provided government jobs to 6.5 lakh youths, while over two crore youths have found employment in the private sector. Besides, over 60 lakh entrepreneurs have been supported in setting up businesses through self-employment initiatives,” he claimed.

He also highlighted the remarkable transformation of Ayodhya into one of the most beautiful cities and said, “The SP is understandably disturbed by Deepotsav as they once admired the disputed structure demolished by Ram supporters. Ironically, those whose hands are stained with the blood of Ram supporters are now commenting on Ayodhya. People laugh and wonder what they could possibly say. If the full extent of their crimes were to be revealed, they would not be able to show their faces.”

CM Yogi Adityanath highlighted the transformation of Ayodhya’s infrastructure and stated that the Ramjanmabhoomi path, Bhakti path, Airport path and four-lane roads connecting Prayagraj, Gorakhpur, Lucknow, Amethi, Raebareli and other routes to Ayodhya have significantly improved connectivity.

He said, “Lord Shri Ram arrived in Ayodhya thousands of years ago through the Pushpak Viman, but it never occurred to the SP or the Congress to build an airport here. Now, with an international airport spread over 821 acres, the Ram-hating SP is visibly angry. Soon Ayodhya will be globally connected, and when they see the city before and after 2017, they will be amazed. Ayodhya, the capital of Suryavansh, is also being developed as the country’s first solar city. The brilliance of Lord Ram’s dynasty will illuminate the city, something the SP, accustomed to darkness, will find difficult to accept.”

CM Yogi also alleged that there were mafia links within the SP ranks, and named criminals from Ghazipur, Ambedkarnagar, Rampur and Prayagraj who were involved in organised crime. He added, “These mafia figures were considered as family by SP leaders. Someone who bows down to criminals and riots calls the sacred tradition a mafia – this is their true character. They are influenced by the spirit of Aurangzeb, which drives their anti-Hindu behaviour.”

Moreover, CM Yogi attacked the SP for the involvement of its leaders in several atrocities committed against people. “SP leader Moeed Khan in Bhadarsa, Nawab Singh Yadav in Kannauj and their leaders in Aligarh and Mau have been involved in heinous acts. The SP MLA from Bhadohi is infamous for his crimes and in Hardoi, an SP district president was involved in the murder of a lawyer. Similarly, a former SP MLA in Kanpur was guilty of land grabbing and violence against the poor. They have always given shelter to anti-national elements for political gains,” he noted.

“Their malicious intentions, especially regarding the safety of daughters, can never be trusted – just like a dog’s tail that cannot be straightened. Our government is giving them the punishment they deserve. While the ‘Chacha-Bhatija’ duo and their allies may think that they can push the boundaries of lawlessness, the government is fully prepared to confront them with vigilance,” the CM said.

CM Yogi Adityanath highlighted the extensive development work done in Ayodhya and Milkipur. He noted that under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, 45,664 houses have been provided in rural Ayodhya and 19,964 in urban areas. Of these, 8,195 houses have been constructed in rural Milkipur alone. Besides, 2,369 beneficiaries have been provided housing under the Mukhyamantri Awas Yojana.

Under the Har Ghar Nal Yojana, efforts are being made to ensure drinking water connections to every household in 1,184 income villages in Ayodhya. Moreover, the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi has helped 4.21 lakh farmers in Ayodhya, with Rs 1,430 crore transferred to their accounts. In Milkipur, 94,549 farmers are receiving benefits under the scheme.

The CM also informed that 67,014 smartphones and 26,974 tablets have been distributed to youth in Ayodhya, while 9,726 Ayushman Bharat Gold Cards have been issued. Besides, 30,245 girls have benefited from the Mukhyamantri Kanya Sumangala Yojana.

“The two-engine government is providing an annual pension of Rs 12,000 to 1,08,228 senior citizens, 54,529 destitute women and 11,603 disabled persons in Ayodhya. Over 12,600 cows are being cared for in 59 Gaushalas in the district and 4.32 lakh families are receiving free ration,” he said.
