Hammouchi to pay working visit to Turkey from 19 to 21 September

Abdellatif Hammouchi, Director General of National Security and Territorial Guard of Morocco, will be on a working visit to Turkey from 19 to 21 September. The aim is to strengthen bilateral cooperation in the field of security and promote cooperation in the field of technological and scientific innovations in the security sector.

During the visit, which took place at the official invitation of the Turkish authorities, Hammouchi met with Turkey’s Deputy Minister of Interior Munir Karaloglu and Director General of Intelligence Selami Yildiz, according to a press release from the Hub of the Directorate General of National Security and the Directorate General of Territorial Guard.

These talks provided an opportunity to review various security issues of common interest, the extent of existing cooperation between the two countries in the field of security and ways to further such cooperation to ensure security and stability and neutralize common security threats and challenges.

According to the press release, these bilateral meetings were marked by the convergence of positions and the common will to consolidate the mechanisms of cooperation in the field of security between the two countries and to share expertise and experiences in the various areas of security, in line with the excellent relations between the Kingdom of Morocco and the Republic of Turkey.

These bilateral security talks took place on the occasion of the visit of the Director General of National Security and Territorial Guard to the Internal Security Equipment Exhibition (IGEF24) held in Ankara from September 19 to 21. This is a global platform for showcasing the latest technological developments and inventions in the field of security and defense.

During his visit to the various pavilions of this exhibition, Hammouchi was informed about innovative equipment in the field of internal security and technologies of security and police services that will make the security system more effective and efficient in the fight against emerging terrorist threats.

This visit reflects the growing interest in promoting and developing international mechanisms for security cooperation and strengthening bilateral and multilateral partnerships in the police field as an effective tool to address the international and regional implications of terrorist risks and threats from transnational organised crime.
