Hells Angels, Red Devils members charged over Hamilton robbery

Members of the Hells Angels and Red Devils motorcycle gangs have been arrested in connection with an alleged robbery that took place in Hamilton, Ontario, last summer.

Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) reported on July 4 that officers were notified of an assault at a Hamilton establishment. It is alleged that the suspect robbed a victim of his personal belongings.

On August 21, multiple search warrants were executed at homes, Hells Angels MC and Red Devils MC clubhouses in Hamilton. Police seized four shotguns, three rifles, a shotgun barrel, ammunition, bulletproof vests and a Possession and acquisition permit.

Thirteen charges were filed against five men, including Joel Rollin, 41, of Grimsby, Ontario, Trevor Pittman, 34, of Ancaster, Ontario, and Daniel Fish, 36, of Brantford, Ontario, who are all charged with assault causing bodily harm and robbery.

In addition, police have charged William Ashford-Smith, 36, of Hamilton, with assault occasioning bodily harm, theft, breaching a probation order and unauthorized possession of a prohibited device.

Jason Hall, 51, of Toronto, was arrested and charged with assault causing bodily harm, theft and violating gun storage regulations.

The suspects have all been released on bail and are due to appear in court on September 23.

“Rule of law motorcycle gangs continue to be involved in violent incidents in our communities,” said OPP Inspector Scott Wade.

“The items seized and charges brought in this investigation illustrate the importance of remaining diligent in our efforts to disrupt and dismantle these criminal organizations. The OPP BEU is grateful for the partnership and cooperation with Hamilton Police Service, and we will continue to work together to keep the community safe.”
