Join our growing team today and support our C5ISR Business Group! HII-Mission Technologies is currently seeking a skilled Qlik Developer to help refine a centralized data environment (CDE) impacting DoD! The key functionality for this role is helping to drive auditable financial transactional data and building a common operating picture for leadership.

A successful candidate will be well-versed in Python, relational database (SQL), have strong written/verbal communication skills, and be able to work as part of a team to provide productive input to solving challenging problems. Team members must be able to internalize and appreciate strategic imperatives to best align the most meaningful data with decision makers – getting the right data to the right people! This role also involves a hybrid work schedule, including telecommuting!

What you are going to do

• Researches, designs, develops and/or modifies enterprise-wide systems and/or application software
• Involved in planning system implementation and development and responsible for meeting software compliance standards
• Evaluates the hardware and software interface, operational requirements, and overall system characteristics
• Documents testing and maintenance of system fixes
• Focus areas:
  • Dashboard development using data analysis and visualization, with an emphasis on data-driven business intelligence
  • User Interface (UI) Design
  • Liaise with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into actionable development goals
  • Connecting to data sources
  • Basic data transformation, such as creating calculated fields or simple expressions
• Additional duties as assigned or required

What we are looking for

• 5 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor’s degree in a related field; 3 years of relevant experience with a Master’s degree in a related field; 0 years of experience with a PhD or Doctorate in Law in a related field; or a high school diploma or equivalent and 9 years of relevant experience
• Experience with relational database development (SQL)
• Knowledge of Python, R or similar analytical languages
• Experience with data visualization and business intelligence (Tableau, Qlik or PowerBI)
• Experience developing in DataBricks or a similar notebook-style data warehouse platform
• Understanding ETL with various disparate data sources and systems
• Consent: Must possess and maintain a secret clearance

Bonus points for…

• 3+ years of Relational Database development (SQL)
• 3+ years of experience with data visualization and business intelligence (Tableau, Qlik, PowerBI)
• Experience with Python data manipulation libraries
• Create and manage scheduled tasks and automation
• Proficiency in creating scripts, calculated fields and expressions to create dynamic dashboards
• Strong understanding of data modeling concepts
• Robust creation and management of data models
• Understanding Advana DataBricks Gold/Silver/Bronze Data Zones
• Experience with AWS Workspace
• Domain knowledge of data sources and reports, and their stakeholders
• Experience working with a team of developers in an Agile environment (JIRA or similar)
• Ability to understand the transactional nature of the data being reviewed
