Intelligence Analyst, Cyber ​​​​Threat at Chainalysis – Remote – US

The Global Intelligence Team at Chainalysis is comprised of world-class cryptocurrency researchers and experts who build trust in blockchains by mapping real-world entities with their cryptocurrency activity – from malware to infrastructure to criminal networks. This team builds the core data assets that power all Chainalysis products.

The Intelligence Analyst has experience conducting proprietary research into cybercrime forums, markets, chats and open sources related to cybercrime. We measure their success by the increase in insights provided into the cybercrime underground, giving clients unique information about cryptocurrency and the tools and services that fuel devastating cyberattacks. As an expert in this field, they manage the requirements and provide thought leadership in their domains.

This candidate has their finger on the pulse of the cybercrime ecosystem and its enablers and is eager to become proficient in blockchain forensics. They are eager to take ownership and think creatively while working with a passionate team of specialists, and responding to client demands. As such, the candidate practices disciplined documentation and analytical rigor for exceptional quality control.

In this role you will:

  • Discover unique, actionable insights that contribute to the data platform and broader understanding of cyber threat actors

  • Play an integral role in developing collection requirements and execution strategy to maintain the best data

  • Conduct original research to identify and process collections for research leads

  • Work with internal teams and customers to provide a contextual story for observed cryptocurrency activity

  • Become a Certified Cryptocurrency Professional with All Chainalysis Certifications

We are looking for candidates who:

  • Experience with OSINT or all-source investigations in an intelligence community, law enforcement, or academic role focused on cybersecurity, transnational crime, or underground activities

  • Practical experience with blockchain forensics is a plus

  • 8+ years of experience producing research products or reporting within the cybersecurity or geopolitical sectors

  • Strong organizational skills, initiative and attention to detail

  • Knowledge of Python or other scripting languages ​​for REST APIs, file operations, and analytical tasks

  • Knowledge of Russian in reading and writing is strongly preferred
