The wide Rolls-Royce Spectre belongs to the silent (disco) mafia of Imagination Land

There’s been a perceived slowdown in EV sales in many regions of the world, and even Tesla is starting to shudder at the thought of the myriad implications. That doesn’t mean the one percenters care about trends, though.

Because they were small to begin with, sales of absolute high-end EVs are fine, especially if you ask Rolls-Royce and their Spectre sales division. The Brits don’t really care about the latest 44% drop in Europe in terms of electric sales in August; they will continue to produce the Spectre steadily based on custom orders from the one percent of the one percent.

It doesn’t matter that sales are low, as long as the Rolls-Royce Spectre has such high visibility in the aftermarket world – every custom EV grand tourer is like a billboard showing off what successful people drive. Plus, they were smart to use BMW Group assets – the Spectre rides on the same Architecture of Luxury platform as the ICE-powered Rolls-Royce Phantom VIII limousine and the recently updated Cullinan ultra-luxury super-off-road vehicle.

The powertrain also comes straight from the BMW Group, as the Spectre uses two BMW eDrive SSMs (Separately Excited Synchronous Motor), which enable a combined output of 577 hp and an electric range of up to 291 miles (EPA) or 517 km (312 miles), depending on the extended WLTP standard. The full-size luxury electric grand tourer is the darling of both the aftermarket realm and the parallel universes of vehicle CGI, believe it or not, even though it’s starting to mature like fine wine after first deliveries began late last year.

For example, many European and American tuners and custom auto shops have projects in the works – most proving that less is often more in the tuning game’s high-end stratosphere. Unfortunately, the imaginative realm of digital auto content creators has a different opinion – at least according to Ildar, the virtual artist better known as ildar_project on social media, which usually involves tuned vehicles.

After playing (a lot) with BMW Group models like the BMW M3 Touring and the new BMW M5, he’s back to show off his ‘Mafia-approved’ all-black vision for a bespoke Rolls-Royce Spectre. If you didn’t think such an EV grand tourer would look good with extreme tuning measures like a massive rear diffuser, giant concave aftermarket wheels and forged carbon fiber parts like the aero kit, waterfall grille, front bumper and hood parts, you might want to think again.

Dressed in black, it’s the right kind of ‘murdered’ stance – except the pixel master has also equipped the Spectre with huge red brake calipers. The final bit of resistance are the freshly added extra fender flares, which turn this Rolls-Royce Spectre into a lowered widebody beast. Everything fits nicely in CGI, it turns out, including that little ducktail spoiler at the back, right?
