Manoj Tiwari slams Atishi for comparing Kejriwal to Lord Ram, empty chair ‘stunt’

Manoj Tiwari slams Atishi for comparing Kejriwal to Lord Ram, empty chair 'stunt'New Delhi, Sep 23 (SocialNews.XYZ) BJP MP Manoj Tiwari on Monday criticised Delhi Chief Minister Atishi for comparing her predecessor and AAP coordinator Arvind Kejriwal with Lord Ram. He termed the comparison “baseless” and accused her party of “continuing to insult the Constitution”.

Speaking to IANS, the BJP MP said, “How can anyone compare a corrupt person who is out on bail with Lord Ram? Was Lord Ram accused of corruption? He was ‘Maryada Purushottam’ (the perfect man). These people (AAP) have no hesitation in degrading the Hindu gods. They keep insulting the Sanatan Dharma.”

“Those who betray Delhi and insult the Constitution should not be taken lightly,” he added.

Tiwari, MP from North East Delhi constituency, also criticised Atishi for leaving an empty chair beside her when he assumed the charge, terming it a “gimmick” and an “insult to the Constitution”.

Earlier, addressing the media, he had said, “We saw the new Chief Minister assume office. However, it was unfortunate that an empty chair was placed next to her. We wonder if a ghost will now rule Delhi.”

He hit out at Atishi, the third woman to assume the role of Delhi Chief Minister, accusing her of undermining the Constitution. “The Constitution gives power to the Chief Minister and their primary responsibility is to exercise that power. But by leaving an empty chair, Atishi has shown that she is not ready to take responsibility,” he said.

The BJP MP from Northeast Delhi mocked her actions and added, “Later she might claim that she was not really the Chief Minister, that perhaps there was a ghost in the empty chair. We don’t know whose ghost it was. It raises questions about her intentions.”

Tiwari further stated that the BJP has written a letter to Atishi, sarcastically suggesting, “If it is indeed someone’s mind, let him read our letter.” He said the letter raised issues related to Delhi’s governance, including concerns over high electricity and water bills.

“We need to know why the people of Delhi are facing exorbitant bills and we have demanded refunds. We have also demanded measures to curb the tanker mafia and repair the drainage systems, which have led to tragic accidents resulting in the death of children,” he said.

He urged Atishi to take her responsibilities as Prime Minister seriously and warned that such stunts only “rub salt in Delhi’s wounds”.
