Northern Mindanao’s Fourth Most Wanted Person Arrested for Rape

The fourth most wanted person in Northern Mindanao was arrested by the police on September 20, 2024 for rape by sexual assault and lewd conduct in Zone 7, St. Peter in Malaybalay City, Bukidnon.

Officers of the City Investigation and Detective Management Unit of the Bukidnon PFU identified the arrested suspect as one “Baltazar,” a 50-year-old resident of Zone 7, St. Peter, Malaybalay City.

According to police, Baltazar was arrested for the crime of sexual abuse and indecent conduct, under the Law for Special Protection of Children against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination.

Documents show that Baltazar raped his biological daughter twice. The first incident occurred in December 2018, when the victim was 11 years old, and the second in January 2019.

Police said the victim was reluctant to report the incident for fear of threats from her father. She eventually sought help from the City Social Welfare and Development Office.

Baltazar is now under the supervision of CIDG Bukidnon PFU for appropriate handling.

Police Brigadier General Ricardo Layug Jr., Regional Director of the Northern Mindanao Regional Office (PRO-10), assured the public that the police will continue its mission to ensure that justice is done and communities are protected from harm.

“This successful operation reflects PRO-10’s unwavering commitment in our hunt for criminals, especially those who target vulnerable individuals,” Layug said. (SunStar Philippines)
