TRANSNATIONAL CRIME: Police investigating alleged drug courier arrested in OR Tambo to check possible syndicate connections

On Sunday, a 30-year-old Namibian woman was arrested at Oliver Tambo International Airport on suspicion of drug trafficking. In the past two months, 10 suspected drug couriers have been arrested, including a woman who came from São Paulo. According to police, she ingested an undisclosed number of cocaine tablets, was taken to hospital, given medication and then expelled more than 60 pellets of suspected cocaine.
