Socialite Don Nasser jailed for child trafficking

Kampala City socialite Nasser Nduhukire, alias Don Nasser, has been remanded to Luzira Prison till October 8, 2024 by Buganda Road Court Magistrate Ronald Kayiizi.

Don Nasser was arraigned in Buganda Road court on Monday, September 23, 2024, to answer for aggravated child trafficking for sexual exploitation.

Judge Ronald Kayiizi ruled that Nasser could not be tried by his court because it has no jurisdiction and referred his case to the Supreme Court.

The prosecution alleges that between May 23, 2024 and May 27, 2024, between Acacia Avenue, Tagore Apartments along Mawanda Road and Kito Zone, Kira Municipality, Don Nasser and his accomplice Promise Gatete fraudulently transported a 16-year-old girl for the purpose of sexual exploitation.

The two denied the charges but were remanded in custody in Luzira Prison pending their trial at the Supreme Court.

Don Nasser was arrested last week in Kenya, where he has reportedly been in hiding since the incident.
