Seven of Guo’s co-defendants in human trafficking case surrender to NBI

THE National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) announced that the seven persons co-accused with Bamban, Tarlac Mayor Alice Guo in the aggravated human trafficking case she is facing have surrendered to the authorities.

NBI Director Jaime Santiago identified them as Roderick Paul Bernardo Puajante, Juan Miguel Alpas, Rachel Joan Carreon, Jamielyn Cruz, Rita Uyturralde, Rowena Evangelista and Thelma Requiro.

The suspects were subsequently arrested based on five arrest warrants issued against them for cases of aggravated human trafficking under Section 4(j) in relation to Section 6(e), RA 10364 or Anti-Trafficking in Person Act of 2012 and RA 11862 or Expanded Anti Trafficking in Person Act of 2022.

It was learned that the suspects surrendered when chased by the NBI-Central Luzon office, NBI-Tarlac District Office, NBI-Organized and Transnational Crime Division and NBI-Counter Terrorism Division.
