Italian Anti-Mafia Directorate in Costa Rica for Collaboration – News from Embassies

The Italian Anti-Mafia Investigative Direction concluded its visit to Costa Rica. The Director General of the Dia, Michele Carbone, accompanied by the Italian Ambassador in San José, Alberto Colella, was received by the Vice Minister for Bilateral Affairs and International Cooperation, Lydia Peralta Cordero, with whom he analyzed the main elements of cooperation in security and police investigations that can be promoted by the teams of both countries from Rome and San José.


During the visit to Costa Rica, the Dia delegation met with various national police services, the judiciary, customs and port authorities and shared good practices in the fight against transnational organized crime.


The purpose of the visit was to strengthen the joint work in this area carried out by both countries and to promote good bilateral relations. The joint effort, it was stressed, is to use advanced investigative techniques and cooperate to counter international criminal systems.
