Human Trafficking Summit receives funding from the Governor of Saskatchewan.

The Government of Saskatchewan has made $100,000 available for The Maddison Sessions, hosted by #NotInMyCity in Saskatoon in the spring of 2025.

“Awareness, combined with a ‘no borders’ approach to law enforcement, will end exploitation,” said Paul Brandt, founder and CEO of #NotInMyCity. #NotInMyCity was founded in 2017.

The province provides funding through the National Action Plan to End Gender-Based Violence.

The Canadian country star was joined on Monday morning by Laura Ross, Minister for Women, and Bronwyn Eyre, Minister of Justice and Attorney General.

“By working together with #NotInMyCity and bringing together those working on the frontline of law enforcement, we can do more to support survivors and help them find justice,” said Minister for the Status of Women Laura Ross.

The Maddison Sessions launched in 2023 and are named after Maddison Fraser, a person who lost her life to human trafficking. According to a press release from the provincial government, the organization helps “frontline investigators develop a network of contacts at the national level to work together in the fight against human trafficking, sexual exploitation and gender-based violence.”
