Bret Michaels Backs Rikki Rockett’s The Rockett Mafia Amid Toxic Tensions

Bret Michaels shared his thoughts on his Poison bandmate Rikki Rockett’s new band, The Rockett Mafia.

“I just wanted to take a moment to wish Rikki Rockett the best on his new project,” Michaels wrote on social media.

Rockett first announced the new band on September 18, revealing the lineup: Brandon Gibbs, Mick Sweda, and Bryan Kimes. The announcement came shortly after some feedback Rockett received after first announcing the project on September 16, to which he responded with a statement.

However, this news coincided with reunion drama between Rockett and Michaels. After Rockett suggested on social media that Michaels would not participate in Poison’s 2025 shows, Michaels responded with his own statement clarifying the matter.

“To clear the air of any confusion I just want to make it clear to all of my amazing family, friends and fans who I am eternally grateful for, that it is no secret that I have previously stated that I plan on performing a limited number of shows in 2025 to primarily focus on my health, starting with my diabetes which needs a tune up, not to mention a little R&R,” Michaels wrote. He also mentioned his dedication to performing and his need for some personal time with his family, jokingly comparing himself to “a classic muscle car – still fast and still fun to drive, just needs a little more maintenance lol.”

Rockett has not yet responded to Michaels’ clarification.
