Lamar Jackson is living rent-free in the minds of the Bills Mafia, despite his dominance with the Jaguars

The Buffalo Bills took on the Jacksonville Jaguars on Monday Evening Football last night. It was supposed to be a semi-competitive game, with the 0-2 Jaguars coming into town desperate for their first win of the season. Unfortunately for the Jags, things didn’t go according to plan at all.

The Bills crushed Jacksonville 47-10. They scored a touchdown on their first five drives of the game, compiled 388 yards of total offense and forced two turnovers. It was about as one-sided a game as you can imagine.

While you might think the postgame conversation would mostly be about Bills quarterback Josh Allen and Buffalo’s sheer dominance over the Jags, you know what happens when you… contract. There’s no way that someone who didn’t even play tonight would be the center of attention, right? As college football analyst Lee Corso famously said, “Not so fast, my friend!”

The postgame conversation wasn’t about the Bills’ dominance, or the Jaguars’ collapse, or the win — no, the postgame conversation was all about the Baltimore Ravens and quarterback Lamar Jackson. And that’s hilariously awesome.

Oh boy, what a clinging to the past. Despite a huge win for the Bills, their fans couldn’t wait to take to social media to rant about how Josh Allen deserved last season’s MVP over Lamar Jackson. It’s a tired narrative that won’t change no matter how much they whine and complain.

I mean, look at our collage below – it’s actually quite sad, and you feel bad that they just can’t move on and accept reality. It’s a shame really.

Last season, Lamar Jackson won the MVP award by a wide margin, receiving 49 of the 50 first-place votes. The only other player to receive a first-place vote was, you guessed it, Josh Allen. If Allen had been closer in the vote, the fans might have been justified in their outcry, but he finished in fifth place behind Dak Prescott, Christian McCaffery, and Brock Purdy.

So why all the Lamar hate? Josh Allen got 80 voter points, while Jackson got 493. Yes, Allen threw more touchdowns and yards than Lamar last season. However, if statistical prowess is the argument for MVP voting, then Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa should have won the award, as he led the league in passing last year.

Look, it’s a sloppy argument and an irrelevant point. However, it’s absolutely hilarious that the Bills Mafia can’t even enjoy a primetime game win without thinking about Lamar Jackson. It must be so frustrating knowing that no matter how Buffalo performs, Jackson will always be on their minds.

Buffalo’s win on Monday night follows a game against the Ravens this coming weekend. The undefeated 3-0 Bills travel to M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore, MD to take on the 1-2 Ravens who looked great in their Week 3 win over the Dallas Cowboys. It’s sure to be a fun game.

Even after beating the Jaguars, the Bills Mafia can’t stop thinking about Lamar Jackson, and honestly, it’s hilarious. Instead of celebrating, they took to social media to rant about how Josh Allen deserved last season’s MVP over Lamar—again. It’s like no matter how well Buffalo plays, in their minds Jackson is living rent-free.

With the undefeated Bills coming to Baltimore for Sunday Night Football, you’d think they’d be focused on that, but nope, they’re still stuck with Lamar. Get ready, because after Jackson takes the field, he’ll be on their minds for a week.
