⚠ Recent evidence shows early signs that organized #arms trafficking in #Ukraine is on the rise, marking a potential change from our last report on the topic: In June 2024, heavy weapons were seized by Ukrainian law enforcement officials, including an anti-aircraft gun, a US machine gun, and a sophisticated US automatic rifle carried exclusively by special forces. Notably, it was not civilians who were collecting and trying to sell discarded weapons, but two active-duty military personnel, neither of whom had a criminal record, according to a police complaint.
