Wake County man charged with multiple charges including rape of minor, kidnapping of toddler

A Wake County man, identified as 22-year-old Christian Alan DeLabio-Hill, is currently being held without bail after being charged with multiple serious sex crimes, including the rape of minors and the kidnapping of a 3-year-old girl in 2018, the Wake County Sheriff’s Office reported in statements reported by CBS 17 and ABC 11.

DeLabio-Hill was captured with the help of the Federal Bureau of Investigation. The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children initially identified the girl from images that were shared online, authorities said. The subsequent investigation led to disturbing findings that tied the suspect’s activities back to when he was just 15 years old.

According to WRAL News, the charges against DeLabio-Hill include one count of first-degree rape of a minor, 10 counts of first-degree sexual exploitation of a minor, three counts of first-degree sex offenses, and one count of kidnapping. These charges are in addition to five counts of child molestation.

“On or about the date of the offense named and in the country named above, the defendant did unlawfully, willfully and feloniously commit a sexual offense with the minor victim, a child under the age of 13,” reads the arrest warrant obtained by WRAL News. It outlines the seriousness of the charges against DeLabio-Hill. He is expected to appear in court on Wednesday.

The possible relationship between DeLabio-Hill and the victim remains unclear. More details continue to emerge from the investigation as the case reveals a terrifying reality. The intersection of technology and crime is a threatening plague for the innocent among us.
