Investigation file, Cantone records other illegal accesses to Striano –

The hearing before the Perugia Court of Appeal in the investigation into the disclosure of confidential information and unauthorized access to computer systems used by law enforcement and the database of the National Anti-Mafia Directorate has been postponed until November 12. During this morning’s hearing, which lasted less than an hour, the Public Prosecutor’s Office, with Chief Prosecutor Raffaele Cantone present in court, submitted new documents, a series of documents relating to further investigations, in particular to numerous new accesses that, according to the Public Prosecutor’s Office, were made by Lieutenant Pasquale Striano, and an in-depth analysis of the position of former Deputy Prosecutor of the National Anti-Mafia Directorate Antonio Laudati, which, to the best of our knowledge, relates to the profile of the risk of evidence manipulation.

At the next hearing, the judges will lift the reservation regarding these documents, after the defense of the two defendants, with lawyers Andrea Castaldo and Massimo Clemente, opposed the acquisition because they considered the documents unusable.

Today’s hearing was set after the Perugia Public Prosecutor’s Office appealed against the GIP’s rejection of the request for house arrest for the former deputy prosecutor of the National Anti-Mafia Directorate Antonio Laudati and for the financier Pasquale Striano. Both are under investigation and both are absent today. (As I said, I will resume the case on November 12, after the decision has been taken following the submission of new investigation documents by the office headed by Cantone, on which the judges have made reservations.
