Hockey goalie Mikayla Demaiter goes for an IG librarian-out-to-dinner look

Let’s start with OutKick news

Four years and three months into OutKick 2.0, Clay Travis called myself, Bulldog columnist Bobby Burack, and a few others who have since left the company into a conference call on June 1, 2020 to announce that we were about to do big things with this site.

Clay shared the latest numbers on Wednesday. You are now looking at the second largest “right-wing” website in the United States, behind only Fox News, which now owns this website.

And here’s the crazy part: this company has so much more growth potential.

I think of the number of Americans who, once they find their content, become addicted to columns like Screencaps, Nightcaps, Pit Stop, and even SeanJo’s well-executed True Romance.

It gives me energy to think about how many people are looking for the escape that we offer. It gives me energy to think about how we have this huge open space between the coasts that has been ignored by modern media. By the way, you should see the growth of OutKick on the coasts. You would be amazed at how many people in New York City read this website. Same goes for California. Their options are limited, especially if they are looking for a sports and pop culture website.

And then I think about how the Millennials are slowly merging into OutKick’s wheelhouse. More and more Millennials want to talk about mowing, how to cook the perfect piece of MEAT on a Blackstone or how to create the perfect patio for Patio SZN.

Now we need to go a step further with social channels that are poised for intense growth. We need to go a step further by reaching tens of thousands of Americans with these columns and our digital offerings like the “Ricky Cobb Show.”

Personally, I am more excited than ever about the future of OutKick.

I have a question for the law enforcement who read Screencaps and are aware of off-airport parking lots, specifically US Park at Detroit Metro

There’s a car sitting in a private parking lot at Detroit Metro Airport that hasn’t been moved in at least five years. The Michigan license plate reads “D Nice.” Canoe Kirk pointed it out when we went to The Masters in April, and then we drove by it last night on our way back from Omaha. The car is still there.

The doorman told us last night that she has been with the company for five years and that the car has been there since she started.

Questions for the police and/or lawyers:

  1. At what point are the officers allowed to enter to check that there is no body in the trunk?
  2. How does the owner of the parking lot, US Park, get the car off its lot? Are the courts slow to make decisions about cars that simply aren’t moved off the lot?
  3. Do any of you know any wild crime stories where drug gangs use cars in airport parking lots as drop points for drugs? Canoe Kirk and I thought this would be an easy way for drug gangs, before CCTV cameras, to make deliveries. I have to believe that agents did not run surveillance programs in busy airport parking lots.

I am suddenly fascinated by airport parking lot stories and feel like I am going down a rabbit hole. What happened to D Nice? Did D Nice die on vacation? Did D Nice leave the US and never come back? Is D Nice in a Mexican prison after going crazy on vacation?

On sports fans’ delusions and the lack of Instagram models with tattoos

– Dave B. has two things to say:

I have lived in NE Ohio most of my life and I completely agree that Browns fans in general are delusional. Not in the intensity of the delusions but just in the numbers, I would say they are only surpassed by the fans of the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Kudos to the lineup of female beauty lately. I’m not sure if you’re intentionally looking for tattoo-free women or if this is the start of a larger trend (and I hope it’s the latter!), but I’ve seen little to no ink in recent photos.

Kinsey:

You will never see many Instagram models with tattoos because I am not a fan of them. But I also know that I have an audience that I have to serve. Sometimes you will see models with tattoos because I like to make money and keep finding work.

By the way, kudos to Dave B. who “beauty in an email. My AI grammar and spelling app didn’t even recognize that word.

Screencaps readers share their thoughts on those who play music on golf courses

– Adam from Nebraska writes:

I’m 44, I’m a man! Your music on the golf course sucks! I feel like the line has been drawn. I’m not an ultra-purist, but what’s next: a dude on his $30,000 UTV blasting music while elk hunting?

Tractor mafia 4life.

Reclining airplane seats and ‘Life is fleeting’

– Chris Y. adds:

Q: When is it good to lean the back of your chair back?

A: Never

Q: And when…?

A: No

Q: What about…?

A: No

The sky is not your living room. Your seat is not your Barcalounger. The flight is not a day spa. Your $299 is meant to get you from point A to point B. Your comfort is not included in the fine print. I looked.

I think a telling social experiment would be to take the governor off his chair and see what people do. How far back would people lean? I’m guessing horizontally.

The governor is there to protect people from themselves.

“Volatile”

When people start saying, “I’m ___ years young.” So stupid.

And then I realized recently that I might have 25 Christmases left. I started doing the math: “We should spend 5 here, 5 there…”

Kinsey:

I agree with Chris Y. about the “I’m _______ years young” people. The minute you start using that phrase I know you’re an elitist. How about just saying “I’m 58 and I feel like I need to down a couple of those Frank Thomas Low Ts he’s selling at Bally Sports at 3am.”

Boys will laugh at this.

Eddie from Acworth is mad at Auburn

– EfA writes:

I was going to post this on Monday but check out this image that was played during the Auburn Arkansas game on Saturday to incite the crowd. For reference, this is Nick Fairley firing Aaron Murray in 2010!!! Check out the YouTube video of Nick Fairley from that game linked below: under today’s rules he would have been arrested on the field for assault. He is one of the dirtiest players I have ever seen. That day I went from thinking Auburn was a “friendly” rival to absolutely despising Auburn and WDE.

Hey WDE, you played Arkansas on Saturday, not UGA. We must be living rent free in their heads, we’re 11 wins in 14 games since that loss in 2010.

Oh-and they lost to Arkansas. Trash can fire-and I’m here to enjoy it.

That’s it. My 9am alarm just went off. It’s my cue to stop this post and move on to other things of the day, like the 9:45 ET OutKick Zoom.

Let’s start this day. It’s the last Thursday of September. Be smart about it. Win the day. Win the week. Win the month. And someone please share stories about abandoned cars in the airport parking lot.

Have a nice day.
