Information Management Assistant (National Position in Ukraine) – Ukraine

Background

GENERAL

The following deliveries are expected from the position:

  1. Enable mobile data collection, form development, and data management.
  2. Generate statistical reports, graphs and maps and track cluster-specific trends.
  3. Support the Information Management Team Leader with data processing and analysis.
  4. Perform any other information management duties assigned by management.

Presentation

In addition, the IM Assistant is responsible for improving the accuracy of iMMAP Inc. data and improving and distributing materials more effectively.

The IM Assistant supports all goals and strategies of the iMMAP Inc. program in collaboration with partners, international partners and appropriate donor organizations.

The IM Assistant maintains good contacts with humanitarian partners on an ongoing basis.

Operational

  • The IMA will proactively collect information from implementing partners and government agencies that may be useful to the sector in decision-making;
  • The IMA will support identified gaps among current implementing partner participants and work with NGOs, humanitarian and development organizations to restore, renew or complement participation in data sharing or IM support.
  • The IMA will support coordination with implementing partners, including national stakeholders.
  • IMA supports the development of standard formats and adapts them to the Ukrainian context. We also translate them if necessary.
  • The IMA facilitates mobile data collection, form development and data management.
  • The IMA supports new and ongoing assessments.
  • Map the aid coverage in the specified area, analyze and report on possible gaps and verifications.
  • Supporting the production of various information products.
  • Record, document and share coordination meeting minutes.
  • Maintain databases and enter data as needed.
  • The IMA will facilitate capacity building and workshops for national and international stakeholders.
  • Perform other duties as requested by the supervisor.

Representation

  • The IMA will attend periodic information management meetings with the IM team and the iMMAP Inc. Country Director to share updates on ongoing IM products and activities and to promote best practices within the organization.
  • The IMO provides specific, sometimes dedicated, support to other partners where necessary.

Requirements

REQUIRED:

  • University degree (Bachelor’s degree or higher) in information sciences, geographic information systems, computer sciences, or another relevant field.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of work experience in the field of information management is essential;
  • Experience with data processing and analysis, preparing reports;
  • Excellent command of Office suite applications (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to work in English.

DESIRED:

  • Relevant experience in working with a UN agency or other humanitarian organization is desirable;
  • A minimum of six (6) years of work experience in the field of information management is desirable;
  • Experience in emergency relief, crisis/emergency management, humanitarian/development environment and field coordination is an advantage;
  • Excellent interpersonal and general communication skills;
  • A strong service orientation;
  • Ability to work in a multicultural environment with minimal supervision.
  • Experience in using software such as ArcGIS, Adobe Illustrator;
  • Experience in the field of mine countermeasures.
