Colonie man admits to sexually assaulting girl and recording crime

A Colonie man has pleaded guilty to sexually assaulting an 8-year-old girl.

Thomas Barrington, 33, admitted in U.S. District Court on Wednesday that he photographed and recorded the abuse between June 2023 and January of this year, the U.S. attorney’s office said.

Barrington will be sentenced on January 30. He faces a prison sentence of 15 to 60 years and a $250,000 fine. He must also register as a sex offender, pay restitution to the victim and forfeit the device used in the crime.
