Job description

HII Mission Technologies is looking for a System Administrator near Ft. Meade, MD. HII Mission Technologies is a technology solutions company that provides technical expertise and operational support to the U.S. Department of Defense, civilian government agencies and commercial customers.

Essential Job Responsibilities

• As an SA, the individual works closely with the ISSM and various government agencies and offices to maintain and manage classified information systems.
• Manages changes to the system and assesses the security impact of those changes.
• Ensures all system security procedures are followed, including maintaining and reviewing software security patches in accordance with various customer requirements.
• Maintain responsibility for hardware and software control of information systems for secure operating environments.
• Conduct periodic self-inspections of the overall information systems program and ensure compliance with various government regulations.

Minimum qualifications

• 6 years of relevant experience with Bachelors in a related field; 4 years of relevant experience with Masters in a related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 10 years of relevant experience.
• An ideal candidate is a fast-learning, self-motivated individual with a passion to work on and make a positive impact on our country’s defense against digital threats.
• Knowledge of all aspects of information system security
• Experience with risk analysis and security incident management
• Experience configuring, managing, and troubleshooting Linux and Windows operating systems
• Experience configuring, managing, and troubleshooting virtual environments is a plus
• Experience configuring software, customizing software configuration, and performing basic configuration management IAW with all STIGs and other cybersecurity requirements
• Experience with RMF, NIST 800-53, CNSSI 1253 and NISPOM
• Experience with vulnerability scanning and logging tools is a plus
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work both in a team and independently
• Must be organized and detailed
• Back up and assist other members of the security staff as necessary
• Certification – Security+ certification with a preference for CISSP
• Endorsement – Must possess and maintain a TS/SCI with poly

• Knowledge of networks and access control
• SAP experience
• COMSEC experience
