State police arrest a Catskill man for possession of child pornography

On September 24, 2024, Latham State Police, with the assistance of the Troop G Computer Crimes Unit, the Internet Crimes Against Children Taskforce, and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, arrested Giovanni Facella57, of Catskill, NY, for promoting a sexual performance by a child, a class “D” felony, and possession of a sexual performance by a child, a class “E” felony.

Fascella is accused of promoting and possessing images related to child sexual exploitation. His arrest followed an investigation and execution of a search warrant at a former residence in Coeymans, NY, on May 26, 2022. The investigation stemmed from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC).

Fascella was arrested in Catskill, NY and transported to SP Latham for processing. He was subsequently arraigned in Coeymans Town Court, where he was remanded to the Albany County Correctional Facility without bail.
