A Johns Island man uploaded sexually explicit images of children to a cloud device

CHARLESTON COUNTY, SC (WCBD) – A 26-year-old Johns Island man has been charged with multiple counts of sexual exploitation of a minor.

Charleston County officers executed a search warrant at David Evan Leonard’s home on Oswald Street on Tuesday after South Carolina’s Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force received a cyber tip.

An affidavit states that Leonard sent files containing images of children in a state of sexually explicit nudity or sexual activity to a cloud storage site. According to the document, the children in the files ranged in age from 7 to 13 years old.

Leonard is charged with four counts of second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor. He was granted $40,000 bond during a hearing Wednesday.
