Lindsey has been a longtime supporter of the Junior League and its mission and has made a significant impact through her dedication and generosity.

Her efforts include establishing the Lindsey Endowment to support SAFE House (S aving A t-risk Youth From Exploitation House), a six-bed residential home for girls victims of sexual exploitation and sex trafficking, in addition to reserving funds to continue the good work of the JLSB with the goal of opening additional shelters to serve this most valuable population.

“Joan gave generously and without hesitation because she believed in the power of empowering strong, dedicated female volunteers in Santa Barbara,” said Jenni-Elise Ramirez, president of JLSB. “Time and time again, she has stepped up to meet the needs of the league, often without being asked.

“Her selflessness has benefited JLSB, its members and the entire community, making her truly deserving of the once-in-a-century Junior League of Santa Barbara Legacy Award.”
