Kamala Harris campaign spends more money on Trump $743 million to $426 million – MishTalk

Harris is raising more contributions than Trump in what will be the most expensive election campaign in history.

The Wall Street Journal offers an interesting look into Harris and Trump’s campaign spending

Both Harris and Trump are poised to blow through hundreds of millions of dollars in campaign cash just weeks before Election Day. Harris’ takeover this summer catapulted Democrats’ fundraising efforts, according to filings with the Federal Election Commission and the campaign. The Biden and Harris campaigns and allied committees have reported raising more than $1.1 billion this year through August.

The Trump campaign declined to provide figures for that year, but the statements and FEC filings total at least $720 million. A senior Trump adviser said the campaign would continue to raise the money needed to execute a winning strategy.

The majority of spending for each campaign has been on advertising, with the Biden and Harris campaigns having spent about $346 million on radio, television and digital ads so far this year, compared to about $147 million for the Trump campaign, according to their FEC. files.

According to data from ad tracking company AdImpact, ad spend on the campaigns will be even greater than the documents show. All told, the Harris campaign aired or reserved $647 million in ads between January and Election Day. The Trump campaign has booked $273 million. And these totals do not include the spending of supporting super PACs. Harris’ team said it reserved ad space early to secure spots for shows like the premiere of “The Golden Bachelorette” on ABC. This summer, the Harris campaign also began buying ad time on Fox News in an effort to reach more centrist Republicans.

Nate Silver update

Quite a few polls for the turnaround period of Friday afternoon/Saturday morning. But nothing really changes the model’s view of the race. Kamala Harris polled some close in Nebraska’s 2nd Congressional District, which is worth one electoral vote, and is now a 91 percent favorite to win there. However, she was already well ahead of that. Depending on winning Michigan, Wisconsin and Pennsylvania, Harris will almost certainly win NE-2, which would give her a win by a dangerous 270-268.

If Harris controls the Blue Wall, she is a heavy favorite to win the election.
