Political strategist Prashant Kishor promises to dethrone Nitish Kumar

Political strategist and activist Prashant Kishor on Sunday launched a scathing attack on Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, alleging that the state government was “led by four retired bureaucrats” and that the CM was in the “grip of these former babus”. ”.

At a press conference three days before he was to form his own political party, Kishor vowed to remove the JD(U) president from power.

He accused Bihar’s longest-serving CM of running his government through a handful of ‘retired bureaucrats’.

He also alleged that the 2025 Assembly elections in Bihar would be fought on the issue of ‘three S’ i.e. ‘sarab’ (liquor), ‘survey’ (land) and ‘smart meter’, claiming that these issues would prove to be the ‘last nail in the coffin of the current regime’.

Kishor highlighted that Nitish Kumar’s government is led by four retired bureaucrats. The CM is in the clutches of these babus and neither Kumar nor these bureaucrats are aware of the problems the people are facing. He alleged that Kumar has lost his morality and is only interested in securing the CM’s seat.

He announced that his ‘Jan Suraj’ initiative will become a political party on October 2.

Kishor said, “If we form the government after the 2025 Assembly elections in Bihar, we will end liquor ban within an hour,” adding that “the existing prohibition law in the state is fake.”

The state is incurring a “loss of nearly Rs 20,000 crore” every year as the “liquor mafia and officials continue to make money from illegal trade,” Kishor said.

Kishor vowed to continue speaking out against the policy, unfazed by the potential loss of women’s votes.

“Whether I get votes from women or not, I will continue to speak out against the liquor ban as it is not in the interest of Bihar,” Kishor said. He further accused Kumar of staying in power like applying glue to his seat and criticized both the RJD and the JD(U) for ‘harming the interests of Bihar’.

“If RJD supremo Lalu Prasad and Nitish Kumar are responsible for the destruction of Bihar, Congress and BJP are equally guilty,” Kishor alleged.
