KBR’s Defense Systems Engineering (DSE) business unit is seeking a Cyber ​​Analyst/Engineer with incident response experience to coordinate and execute cybersecurity activities at the DoD Component scale for the Defense Health Agency (DHA) to improve information systems protect against unauthorized activities, vulnerabilities or threats.

This position is limited to Hawaii and does require you to work in the office on a hybrid office/home schedule.

Role description

This individual’s primary responsibility will be to monitor and track cybersecurity incidents and electronic data breaches impacting all cyber areas relevant to the DHA mission to ensure that response activities are coordinated quickly and efficiently between the Cybersecurity Service Provider (CSSP), DHA departments, DHA locations and facilities. and external entities, if necessary. The Cyber ​​Incident Response Coordinator will provide status reports to DHA leadership throughout the entire lifecycle of an event, from detection to closure, and maintain and provide historical statistics upon request.

Required skills

  • Experience in designing, installing and maintaining hardware and software for information systems
  • Knowledge of cloud service models and how these models can limit incident response
  • Knowledge of different types of attacks (e.g. passive, active, insider, close-in, distribution attacks)
  • Knowledge of cyber attackers (e.g. script kiddies, insider threats, non-state-sponsored and nation-sponsored)
  • Knowledge of phases of cyber attacks (e.g. reconnaissance, scanning, enumeration, gaining access, escalating privileges, maintaining access, network exploitation, hiding traces)
  • Knowledge of DoD cybersecurity policies, procedures and regulations
  • Knowledge of incident response and handling methods
  • Knowledge of network security architecture concepts, including topology, protocols, components, and principles
  • Ability to read, interpret, and implement technical policies and procedures related to information systems and information systems security
  • Skill in written and oral communication on technical topics
  • Proficiency with common office applications and collaboration tools
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • A self-starter, needs little direction, ability to work in a dynamic project environment

Required qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree and 7 years of technical experience, or 15 years of technical experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Active secret clearance
  • At least an IAT Level II certification is required
  • IAT/IAM Level III certification is preferred

Travel

Travel requires up to 25%, sometimes with little notice.

Type of employment

Full-time, core hours, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Basic compensation:

$126,500 – 189,800 USD annually

The rate offered will be based on the knowledge, skills, abilities and/or experience of the selected candidate and taking into account internal equity.

Additional compensation:

KBR may offer bonuses, commissions or other forms of compensation for certain job titles or levels, according to internal policy or contractual designation.
