The police are conducting a large-scale crackdown against ‘clans’ of Inter-Milan Ultra fans

ROME, September 30 (Bernama-ANSA) – The Milan police flying team and the financial police made dozens of arrests and seizures early on Monday in a major operation against alleged clans of AC Milan and Inter football ‘ultra’ fans based of a number of charges including criminal association aggravated by the mafia-like method, extortion and causing bodily harm.

Italian news agency ANSA reported that the suspects are “ultra” fan leaders of the two Milan football clubs, who, according to investigative sources, are said to be involved in companies linked to the world of football.

The suspects involved in the police operation include one of the leaders of Inter’s ‘ultra’ fans, Marco Ferdico, who was very close to Antonio Bellocco, a member of the ‘Ndrangheta’ crime syndicate, who allegedly September was murdered by Andrea Beretta, who is also a leader of Inter’s fans and is currently being held on murder charges, the sources said on Monday.

Also involved are Luca Lucci, an AC Milan ‘ultra’ leader previously convicted on drug charges and known to the public for a photo taken in 2018 with then-Deputy Prime Minister Matteo Salvini, who is now Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport, at a party celebrating the 50th anniversary of football fan club ‘Curva Sud’ and Christian Rosiello, known as the bodyguard of rapper Fedez who was allegedly involved in an attack on personal trainer Cristiano Iovino earlier this year .

A total of 19 arrest and house arrest warrants were issued in Milan as part of the investigation carried out by the police and the financial police, coordinated by the anti-mafia DDA investigation unit of the Milan public prosecutor’s office.

The investigation involved all the “ultra” leaders of the two football clubs, investigators said, including Renato Bosetti, who became the new leader of Inter fans after Beretta’s arrest for Bellocco’s murder, as well as “ultra” fan Marco Ferdico.
