We are looking for creative, talented individuals to join our world-class Analytics and Machine Intelligence department and help us advance the state-of-the-art in our areas of work. Our work ranges from groundbreaking research and development to advanced field solutions. BBN’s research team works with universities on a range of groundbreaking projects. Our research activities drive the development of leading 24×7 solutions and their implementation in demanding user environments.

This is an on-site position at the client’s work location and BBN, Columbia, MD offices.

What you’re going to do

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • The Analytics & Machine Intelligence Engineer II will work with a team of experienced employees to design and implement new techniques in a variety of technologies including artificial intelligence, decision support/information exploitation, natural language processing, human-machine teaming, automation, etc. Responsibilities include implementing algorithms, testing, analyzing and documenting the performance of the new algorithms, and integrating resulting advances into existing systems and components.
  • Candidates should expect that they may be required to travel to a BBN, RTX, teammate or client location for meetings or other business-related activities.

Qualifications you must have

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science (CS), Computational Linguistics, Electrical Engineering (EE), Mathematics or related fields; or Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of direct experience.
  • Requires active/current US Government TS/SCI+ security clearance.
  • Experience with programming languages ​​and in particular Python.
  • Experience with Linux and/or MS Windows programming environments.

Qualifications that we prefer

  • Familiarity with Docker, Git, ML development toolkits (e.g. PyTorch)
  • Familiarity with training and customizing Machine Learning models, and familiarity with the Huggingface ecosystem and the Transformer model family.
  • Familiarity with statistical tools, such as Matlab, is a plus.
  • Good communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills.
  • Background in probability, statistics, machine learning or other STEM fields.

The salary range for this position is USD 77,000 – USD 163,000. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when expanding an offering, including but not limited to the role, position and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training and key skills. Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid leave, and holidays. Specific benefits depend on the specific business unit and whether or not the position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement. Hired applicants may be eligible for short-term and/or long-term annual incentive programs depending on the level of benefits. the situation and whether or not it is covered by a collective labor agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or company performance. This role is a US-based role. If the successful candidate is a US resident, the appropriate compensation structure and benefits will apply.
