The K'taka government is conspiring to send me to prison: Kumaraswamy

New Delhi, Oct 1 (SocialNews.XYZ) Major Industries and Steel Minister HD Kumaraswamy on Tuesday said the Karnataka Congress government is conspiring to send him to jail.

“In the past, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s team conspired against me to send me to jail even for a day. Now his current team dreams of doing the same. I had spoken about an officer’s misconduct and told his story to the media. I have the information about where and in whose room they talked about sending me to jail,” the Union minister said.

He said he accepted bail as the law allows. “I was granted bail because my lawyers advised me to accept bail because the corrupt officials of this government can do anything. That is why I got bail,” he said.

The Union minister said he was aware of everything happening in the state. “What happened in the embezzlement case involving Rs 80 crore? The SIT arrested arbitrarily by including the name of an unrelated person in the case,” he said.

The Union minister claimed that he had not used any authority for personal gain. “My questioning of that officer was not about my case. “I had written a letter requesting permission from the governor’s office to conduct an investigation, and since the letter was leaked to a private channel, I questioned it,” he said.

“I condemned the arrogance of the police officer. I revealed the background of the officer, which shows direct links with the land mafia in Bengaluru and involvement in illegal activities. Has this person been given an IPS position to support anti-social forces? The constable has been accused number two in a criminal case and is currently out on bail,” Kumaraswamy said.

He further questioned the Chief Minister and said, “What would you do if an officer comes to you and calls you a ‘criminal ‘Chief Minister’? Some officers used obscene language against me in letters to their colleagues. These letters were not official memos – they had no seals or departmental emblems,” the Union minister claimed.

He alleged that such officers abuse their power to please the government.

‘That’s why I had to accept bail. The officer also has a case against him. He is accused number two and has been granted a reprieve in the Supreme Court. I only accepted bail but I did not get any reprieve,” the Union minister said.

He added that Karnataka Home Minister Parameshwara pretended not to have his name mentioned by the IPS officer, who used derogatory language in his letter.

“But there are also allegations against the Prime Minister. What will you do if the officer calls you a ‘criminal CM’? How was the letter written against me distributed? Another letter from the Chief Minister’s office reached me on Monday evening,” the Union minister said.
