Two more arrest warrants issued after viral security video at Aurora apartment complex

DENVER (KDVR) – More arrest warrants have been issued for two suspects who police say were seen in the viral video captured by a security camera in an Aurora apartment.

According to Aurora police, an Arapahoe District Court judge signed arrest warrants Monday for two more suspects in the Aug. 18 video at an apartment complex near 12th Avenue and Dallas Street.

Warrants have been issued for the arrest of Danyeer Aramillo-Meneses, 23, and Edilson Yoel Pena-Angulo, 25, on charges of first-degree burglary and menacing with a firearm.

The complex, known as The Edge at Lowry Apartments, gained national attention after FOX31 obtained video of the apartment complex in August.

The video shows a group of men carrying firearms gathering around an apartment door before entering. The video was taken just before a shootout took place in the complex’s parking lot that left one person dead.

Homeland Security sources confirmed to Nexstar partner station NewsNation that the Aurora video shows Venezuelan gang members. However, Aurora police said there is no evidence that the people seen in the video are involved in a gang and that they cannot link the individuals to the Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua.

Since the video, Aurora Police have been able to identify some of the suspects in the video and issue arrest warrants. So far, five of the six suspects have been positively identified.

Residents have reported numerous problems to The Edge, including concerns about trash and alleged criminal activity, while other residents said gangs were not the problem and it was property management’s fault for the dire conditions. Meanwhile, similar problems have been reported at Nome Street Apartments, both complexes owned by CBZ Management.
