‘High in the Desert’ is buzzing with live music, cannabis, food and more

High in the desert is half music festival/half cannabis expo and a whole afternoon of fun.

On Saturday, October 5, dozens of cannabis brands, retailers and more are coming to the MSA attachment during the festival’s second biennial event. Whether you’re a fan of live music, a cannabis enthusiast or a foodie, there’s something for everyone at High in the Desert.

VIP ticket holders ($120) enter at 4:00 PM, general admission ($65) is at 5:00 PM and the event runs until 10:00 PM at 267 S. Avenida del Convento.

Live music on tap

The event will be headlined by The Expendables, a reggae band from Santa Cruz, California. Immediately
quartet of musicians, the group has made a name for itself since 1997 with a mix of reggae, ska, punk and metal. With eight studio albums to their name, expect a mix of crowd-moving jams and a heavy Californian surf rock influence.

Supporting bands include Anarbor (from Phoenix), The Irie (from Chandler) and Tucson native Anjanee.

In addition, DJ Frvnk Benjvmin will be present during the event, while Lucid Lizard Entertainment will perform between sets. Emcee Beef Vegan of Rock 102.1 KFMA will entertain festival goers all day long.

Cannabis in its (many) forms

This is High in the Desert, so expect an abundance of cannabis plants flowing freely in all their different forms. Would you like to taste resin? They will be a dab bar. Do you like pure cannabis buds? Go to the bong bar. Prefer vapor? There is also a bar for that.

The event concludes with a selection of food trucks and vendors offering something for everyone. Wearable treats, decadent treats and creative drinks are offered.
