Twelve people executed and their bodies left in different parts of Salamanca

The killings took place in just one hour in several communities of the state; these terrible crimes are attributed to the dispute between two drug cartels.

Twelve people – four women and eight men – were executed on Thursday, October 3, in five points of Salamanca, Guanajuato, after the massacre in the annexe of the El Rosario neighborhood, registered on the night of October 1, 2024, in which four young people died. Local authorities attributed the violence to the dispute between two cartels over the square.

The killings took place in sixteen minutes on the Salamanca-Valle de Santiago ring road, in the communities of Valtierrilla, Los Lobos, Cerro Gordo and the La Cruz neighborhood.

In all incidents, the victims had gunshot wounds, some showed signs of violence and their hands or feet were tied. The crimes became known after 6 a.m. Banners apparently bearing the name of the Santa Rosa de Lima cartel hung in various places.

Around 6 a.m., a young man was found dead on a roadway of the Valle de Santiago Avenue vehicle bridge; next to the body was a written message from an alleged criminal group.

Two women and two men were shot dead in the community of Los Lobos. Security officers and paramedics arrived on a dirt road, near fields, where they confirmed the multiple murder.

Minutes later, a man and a woman were shot dead; their tied bodies were found under the vehicle bridge, at the entrance to the Valtierrilla community.
