Hizb-ut-Tahrir’s media coordinator arrested in Dhaka

The Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) Unit of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police arrested the media coordinator of banned group Hizb-ut-Tahrir, Imtiaz Selim, in Dhaka early today.

The DMP informed the media of the arrest via a text message this morning.

The CTTC conducted a raid in Bashundhara residential area and arrested him early today, DMP Deputy Commissioner (Media) Talebur Rahman said.

Imtiaz is charged in a case filed under the Anti-Terrorism Act at Shahbagh police station.

Besides, he is an accused in two other cases at Pallabi and Khilgaon police stations, the police official said.

The DC added that three cases are currently pending against him.
