Inter & AC Milan asked for 5 measures in ultra-scandal investigation

Prosecutors have asked Inter Milan and AC Milan to carry out five measures as part of their investigation into the clubs’ echoes.

This was reported by the Rome-based newspaper La Repubblica, via FCInterNews. They report that the clubs have been asked to completely cut ties with the Curva Nord and Curva Sud.

This week, anti-mafia prosecutors in Italy began a high-profile investigation into the activities of the ultra groups Inter and Milan.

Prosecutors made a total of nineteen arrests early this week. They have arrested leaders of both Inter Ultras group Nord and their Milan counterparts Sud.

The focus of this investigation was on alleged illegal activities and mafia ties on the part of the ultra groups.

However, prosecutors have also submitted requests to Inter and Milan.

The clubs have been asked to take stricter measures to prevent their ultras groups from facilitating potentially illegal activities.

Inter and AC Milan subject to five key requests in Ultras investigation

According to La Repubblic, prosecutors have asked Inter and Milan to implement five measures in particular.

Firstly, the newspaper reports, prosecutors have asked that the clubs exercise more control over the San Siro during match days.

Deriving from this, Below and Milan have been asked to treat the Curva Nord and Curva Sud sections of the San Siro as regular stands.

The iconic stands have become symbols of the Nerazzurri and Rossoneri ultras respectively.

But the dark side of this connection is that the ultras groups have come to exert significant control.

But according to La Repubblica, prosecutors have asked Inter and Milan to regulate and manage the stands as if they were another part of the stadium.

Third, prosecutors have demanded that ties between the clubs and their ultras be completely severed.

There must be no cooperation that would make it possible for Nord and Sud to engage in illegal activities during match days.

Fourth, prosecutors have asked clubs to implement stricter checks on tickets.

And fifthly, La Repubblica reports, there is a request to take tough action against entering the stands via service entrances.

The latter problem entails, among other things, the risk of overpopulation.

The newspaper notes that these measures could also speed up the introduction of facial recognition technology in stadiums in Italy.

The Lega Serie A aims to advance that initiative. This would be to monitor and punish bad fan behavior more efficiently.
