Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ hotline gets twelve thousand calls in one day: lawyer

A lawyer seeking to file a lawsuit against Sean “Diddy” Combs on behalf of 120 alleged sex abuse victims claims a hotline he set up to handle even more cases was flooded with as many as 12,000 calls in about 24 hours.

Texas-based attorney Tony Buzbee announced the hotline earlier this week when he revealed that a new wave of accusers — including one who was just 9 at the time — planned to sue the embattled music mogul for alleged sexual abuse and exploitation.

Since then, the hotline has exploded with calls from people who have filed similar complaints against Combs, the attorney said in an interview with Law&Crime on Wednesday.

“From the press conference we had yesterday, we had 12,000 calls in about 24 hours,” Buzbee said.

“So our enormous task is to sift through all these calls and ensure that we identify those who are victims and witnesses and collect evidence.”

He added: “We have almost 100 people working on this task.”

The lawyer said his team was trying to ensure that the claims of any additional alleged victims – on top of the 120 cases they have already identified – are watertight before taking further action.

“The 120 that we announced yesterday, those are claims that we can file now against Sean Combs, but we’re trying to make sure that when we file the cases… we include every potentially liable party,” Buzbee told the outlet.

The hotline disclosure came after the lawyer told a news conference that the new wave of complaints from 120 plaintiffs was reportedly evenly split by gender, spanned three decades and involved 25 minors — including a child who was just 9 at the time.

The children allegedly abused by the rapper were “looking for a TV or music career with the promise of ‘I will make you a star,’” the attorney alleged.

Here’s what we know about the allegations against Sean “Diddy” Combs

Buzbee publicly claimed that the alleged attacks would involve “many powerful people” and reveal “many dirty secrets.”

Most of the new lawsuits are expected to be filed in New York and Los Angeles over the next month, Buzbee said.

The claims are the latest in a wave of accusations against the Bad Boy Records founder after he was arrested in New York late last month on sex trafficking charges.

The federal indictment unsealed last month includes disturbing allegations that Combs manipulated women and plied them with drugs to participate in “Freak Offs” — or violent sex sessions sometimes recorded against their will.

Combs, who is currently being held without bail in federal custody in Brooklyn, has pleaded not guilty to federal charges of racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking and transportation to engage in prostitution.

His representatives did not immediately respond to a request for comment early Friday.
