SAGA is teaming up with Pride on the Plains and Coffee Mafia for their first Drag Camp

AUBURN, Ala. (EETV) – Auburn University’s Sexuality and Gender Alliance (SAGA) is teaming up with Pride on the Plains to host their first weeklong drag camp at Coffee Mafia, a local gay-owned coffee shop.

Every evening from October 21 to 25, participants have the opportunity to immerse themselves in the world of drag and learn everything from creative makeup techniques to costume design and stage presentation.

Each evening will focus on a different aspect of drag and will feature fun workshops, mentoring sessions and exciting performances, all led by seasoned drag artists.

This event is open to anyone who wants to learn more about drag in a safe and welcoming environment.

“We really want this event to be informal and inclusive, where participants can feel comfortable being themselves without fear of judgement,” said Griffin Wilson, SAGA Programming and Events Chair.

Wilson said this is the first time SAGA has hosted a drag camp since the organization took over the Spectrum name last year, but their partnership with Pride on the Plains, Auburn-Opelika’s LGBTQIA+ Pride organization and Coffee Mafia gives them confidence that the event will be a event will be. great success.

Coffee Mafia is located at 414 S. Gay Street, Auburn, AL and the camp runs all week from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
