Driver under the influence of drink is banned from the road for twelve months

A DRINK driver is not allowed to get behind the wheel for a year.

Glynn Evans, 48, was driving a white Volkswagen Caddy at Moorclose in Workington on September 12.

A breath test showed he had 47 mcg of alcohol in 100 ml of breath. The legal limit for driving is 35 mcg.

Evans, of Eskdale Crescent, Workington, pleaded guilty to driving a motor vehicle with an alcohol level over the limit.

Magistrates in Workington handed Evans a 12-month driving ban, which could be reduced by 12 weeks if he completes the drink-driving rehabilitation course.

The defendant was fined £120 and must pay £85 costs and a £48 victim surcharge.
