Columbia man arrested for rape and child sexual abuse material

A Columbia man was arrested Friday after being investigated for sexual assault.

The Boone County Sheriff’s Office announced the arrest of David Eugene Lee on Friday, October 4.

Lee, 72, was arrested for possession of child pornography, statutory sodomy, statutory rape in the first degree and sexual exploitation of a minor child.

The Boone County Sheriff’s Office began investigating Lee after receiving complaints in September 2024 about allegations of a minor being sexually abused over several years.

Lee was being held in the Boone County Jail without bond.
