‘Three 6 mafia was inevitable’

Hanumankind used Project Pat’s flow on “Big Dawgs” because of how influential Three 6 Mafia is to him and hip-hop in general.

We recently spoke with the rapper about his viral song, and he talked about how important the legendary group is.

“I think Three 6 Mafia was an inevitable man,” he explained. “Like, you can’t not be influenced by it or introduced to it, because that era of the 2000s was just their time.”

Hanumankind continued, expressing how influential the group is. “I think they set the precedent for a lot of sound and a lot of style,” Hanumankind explains. “And that wave of that Memphis sound is real, man, because you can feel it in all the songs now. There are so many elements that people don’t even know where they come from.”

Hanumankind’s “Big Dawgs” has become one of the surprise hits of 2024. The song reached the top 10 of the global charts in August, with many listeners noting Hanumankind’s implementation of Project Pat’s iconic ‘Patta Flow’.

The already amplified song was enhanced by the well done video shoot in Ponnani, Kerala, India. It is a tribute to the traveling carnival show called Well of Death, in which stuntmen ride along the walls of a vertical well.

In the video, Humankind hangs outside a car while participating in the stunts. He revealed to us that although it was fun, he felt quite ill at first. “Wicked sickness hit me so hard in the beginning, man,” he explained. “I did everything I could to keep my stomach in place, but eventually we found that if you sit outside and lean, you have a different perspective. It was much easier on my stomach and my mind.”
