Tren de Aragua gang members under 20 arrested in San Antonio after apartment complex takeover · American Wire News

Several members of a violent Venezuelan gang that recently made headlines for taking over apartment complexes in the Denver area have been arrested in Texas.

At a press conference on Saturday, San Antonio police announced that the foreign criminals belonging to the infamous Tren de Aragua (TDA), who are now operating in the United States thanks to the Biden-Harris regime’s open borders policy.

As in Aurora, Colorado, TDA members had taken over a local apartment complex, with police receiving complaints of gang activity including narcotics, human trafficking and threatening staff at the Palatia Apartment Complex at 10362 Sahara Dr.

After an investigation, the SAPD discovered that the area was under the control of the vicious gang, which was so extreme it was described as an “MS-13 on steroids.”

On Saturday morning, a multi-agency task force consisting of the San Antonio Police Department, FBI, Homeland Security and other agencies began their operation at the complex, clearing nearly 300 vacant apartments.

“I’m sleeping, and they’re banging and banging — and I mean loud,” complex resident Andy Martinez, who was in bed at the time, told KSAT.

“We had information that members of the transnational gang Tren de Aragua were in control of the area and were committing several crimes,” San Antonio Police Chief Bill McManus told reporters.

According to police, 20 people were arrested, four of whom were confirmed as Tren de Aragua, one of whom is a “confirmed enforcer” for the foreign gang.

“The four members have been taken into custody by Homeland Security and emergency removal operations,” KENS reported. “Currently, 19 people have been arrested and 15 detainees have been placed by HSI.”

The department said the investigation is ongoing and other locations may also be affected.

“Even though we’re done here at the complex, we’re not done yet,” McManus said. ‘We’re on to you, and we’re coming after you. We know where you are and we’re coming for you.’

According to the police, the gang, which likes to dress in red, has been active locally for several months.

When asked last week about the gang’s presence, Bexar County Sheriff Javier Salazar acknowledged that TDA “is here in Bexar County.” The sheriff said it is “certainly not unusual to encounter TDA people on the street.”

“That’s one of the main reasons why we started the Organized Crime group a number of years ago, knowing that these types of things were happening,” Salazar said, according to KENS. “Quite recently, we even spun off a team from that organized crime group to focus solely on transnational criminal organizations, thanks to organizations like Tren de Aragua.”

Criminal illegal alien gangs are the new normal in Democratic-controlled America and things will only get worse with “border czar” Kamala Harris in the Oval Office.
