2 MMA fighters from the state are eligible for World C’ship

Dimapur, October 6: Nagaland, six fighters who trained from The Combat Academy, participated in the recently concluded MMA and Striking MMA national selections for the 2024 GAMMA World Championships in Indonesia under Federation of Mixed Martial Arts India at the Dwarka Auditorium in Bengaluru on October 5 and 6.
Of the six competitors, Atokivi Chishi won gold in the Bantamweight category for Striking MMA, Kedokietuo Sirie got gold in the 79 kg MMA category, Tsenchio Kikon won silver in the 52 kg Strawweight Striking MMA category, Sohilo Yimkhiung won bronze in the 70 kg division , while Wungvamsem Raman had to retire due to injury after winning his first fight in the 65.8kg MMA selections, and Thanmi Angkang secured the silver medal in the 61.2kg division.
All gold medalists have qualified to participate in the World Championships under the Global Association of Mixed Martial Arts and will represent the country in their respective weight categories in Indonesia.
